BlackBerry Curve 8520: Striking a Balance?

BlackBerry Curve 8520The success gained by previous BlackBerry mobiles could be attributed to their ability to strike a harmonic balance between the business and personal side of the user’s life. BlackBerry models were renowned for their excellent business applications that allowed users to bring their work with them wherever they may be. However, they didn’t forget about the lighter side of life by including an excellent array of apps for personal use. With the new Blackberry Curve 8520, RIM hopes to resemble the same balance.

Business On-the-Go

The ever-present and immaculate QWERTY keyboard combined with full email support on the Curve 8520 is testament to the fact that this device (as is the other BlackBerry Smartphones) is one of the most powerful mobile messaging units in the market today.

Keeping in touch with your contacts is made easy on the BlackBerry Curve 8520 as it still has the same excellent phonebook present in previous models. Simplicity and straightforwardness guarantees ease of use, while the variety of features ensures full functionality.

The Curve 8520’s organizer is also a thing of beauty. Much like the phonebook, it’s still pretty much the same one present in its predecessors – which is definitely a good thing going for it. Aside from the basic features, there’s also the BES or BlackBerry Enterprise Server which allows remote management and on-air syncing of the organizer.

Multimedia Madness

The BlackBerry Curve 8520 is equipped with a purely functional 2-Megapixel camera. It is in no way cutting edge, but at least it’s still able to snap decent photographs. Also on board the device is a very user-friendly and eye-catching media player. Along with an excellent interface, it also supports most of the popular media file formats of today – may it be audio (WAV, WMA, AAC/AAC+/eAAC+, AMR-NB, and MP3) or video (WMV, H.623, and MPEG4).
