The success gained by previous BlackBerry mobiles could be attributed to their ability to strike a harmonic balance between the business and personal side of the user’s life. BlackBerry models were renowned for their excellent business applications that allowed users to bring their work with them wherever they may be. However, they didn’t forget about the lighter side of life by including an excellent array of apps for personal use. With the new Blackberry Curve 8520, RIM hopes to resemble the same balance.
Business On-the-Go
The ever-present and immaculate QWERTY keyboard combined with full email support on the Curve 8520 is testament to the fact that this device (as is the other BlackBerry Smartphones) is one of the most powerful mobile messaging units in the market today.
Keeping in touch with your contacts is made easy on the BlackBerry Curve 8520 as it still has the same excellent phonebook present in previous models. Simplicity and straightforwardness guarantees ease of use, while the variety of features ensures full functionality.
The Curve 8520’s organizer is also a thing of beauty. Much like the phonebook, it’s still pretty much the same one present in its predecessors – which is definitely a good thing going for it. Aside from the basic features, there’s also the BES or BlackBerry Enterprise Server which allows remote management and on-air syncing of the organizer.
Multimedia Madness
The BlackBerry Curve 8520 is equipped with a purely functional 2-Megapixel camera. It is in no way cutting edge, but at least it’s still able to snap decent photographs. Also on board the device is a very user-friendly and eye-catching media player. Along with an excellent interface, it also supports most of the popular media file formats of today – may it be audio (WAV, WMA, AAC/AAC+/eAAC+, AMR-NB, and MP3) or video (WMV, H.623, and MPEG4).
Sometimes, thing arrive or appear and we find ourselves thinking:huh, that seems so obvious, it’s weird they didn’t think of that already. Which, as with most things in life, normally mean something is a very, very smart idea. And is going to be a very successful idea indeed. Such is the case with the Blackberry Curve 8520. And why is that, we hear you bleat? Well it’s very very simple indeed – the Blackberry Curve 8520 simply takes two thing people seem to like rather a lot and combines them. The first of these things is of course a Blackberry. Given how insanely popular these ugly little phones are we can safely say people like them a lot. The second thing is cheapness. Because no matter how flashy you are, you always like saving money, don’t you. And as you can tell from these Blackberry curve 8520 deals, the 8520 Curve is the cheapest Blackberry ever released. Ever ever ever. So cheap in fact that people are even touting this as a viable purchase for pay-as-you-go customers. And if it’s alright for those skin flints, you know it’s gonna be alright for you too.
As this Blackberry Curve 8520 review details, there are several rather vital things missing from this thing in order that it can be as cheap as it is, but as long as you’re aware of and happy with these omissions, then you could grab yourself an absolute bargain.
So go on, admit it, you’re a tight **** like the rest of us… all hail the cheapest Blackberry ever.
The Blackberry 8900 seems to be a firm favourite with Blackberry fans here in the UK. After mixed reviews about the their touch screen device the Blackberry Storm, Blackberry it seems, have decided to stick to doing what they know best and that is providing easy to use mobile phone devices with built in push email functionality. It is refreshing to see that Blackberry has decided to stick with its conventional QWERTY keypad, even if the buttons are a little on the small side for me (they take a little getting used to). The UI on the Blackberry 8900 Curve is smooth, with little amounts of hang time. Other noticeable features include the famous Blackberry track ball, a very bright and clear screen.
The 8900 Curve is also equipped with a 3.2 megapixel camera, which although not the best in the world, it is better than on the iphone and we must remember that the Curve’s primary function here is not to take pictures it is for email communication. Howwever Blackberry have decided to throw in a music player and video playback, just to make sure its not all work and no play. Overall we think that this is the best Blackberry device out there at the moment and if you are thinking of purchasing a Blackberry today, then this is most certainly the one to go for.
